Jean-Michel Wilmotte is a French architect and designer born in Soissons in 1948. He graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 1975, and founded his own architectural practice in 1975.

Jean-Michel Wilmotte has gained international renown for his architectural and design creations. His projects include the renovation of the Roland-Garros stadium in Paris, the design of the Cœur Défense tower in La Défense, the restoration of the Lutetia hotel in Paris, as well as the design of luxury boutiques and hotels around the world.

He is also known for his work as a designer of furniture and objets d'art, with creations for prestigious brands such as Hermès, Poltrona Frau and Vitra. In 2005, he founded his own furniture brand, Wilmotte & Industries, with which he has designed a collection of elegant, minimalist furniture.

Jean-Michel Wilmotte has received numerous awards and honors throughout his career, including the Ordre national du mérite in 2016 and the Légion d'honneur in 2017.
