Georgia Jacob Mid-Century Buttercup Ophelie Lamp

400.00

Georgia Jacob, a notable figure in French design history, is most famous for her "draped" lamps of the early to mid 1970's. She was inspired by the freedom and effortless beauty of draped fabric. Its casual elegance. She came up with the idea of taking knit textile and suspending it in resinous acrylic of different hues in order to come with a permanent and light-safe way of illuminating said textiles. Some of her most iconic designs include "Athena", "Corolle" as well as "Ophelia." (seen here) Warm and elegant, yet whimsical and decorative, this is the romantic, warm equivalent to the sharp geometry of Rogier's famous acrylic lamp.

Good vintage condition. A bit dusty at ends, but no major issues visible to my eye.

Item is available for Parcel Shipment.
