Burk Uzzle is an American photojournalist, previously member of Magnum Photos and president from 1979 to 1980.

The photographer Burk Uzzle has a habit of being in the right place at the right time — a knack he mostly credits to patience. His eye for composition transforms the quotidian into the iconic and he has captured many landmark moments in American history, such as Martin Luther King Jr.’s funeral, Woodstock and peace demonstrations.

For 35 years I went to Bike Week in Daytona Beach, Florida, and the trip never failed to offer delightful surprises. Each year the American culture revealed certain timely trends with drama, and each year was different. Body parts, however, remained a constant,” Uzzle says.'

Bike Week in Daytona Beach does have its fashion tradition,” Uzzle says. “Skin comes in many sizes, some vintage, some contemporary. Decoration transcends function.” less
